Student Associate Recap of the TechConnect Summit: Insights and Highlights

ATI Student Associate Philon Yu recently attended the TechConnect Defense Summit and shared a recap of his experience as an attendee.

This past week I had the pleasure of attending TechConnect‘s Defense Innovation Summit & Expo: a three-day conference packed with deep technologies, research, and startups that spans the microelectronics entrepreneurial ecosystem!

Philon Yu at the SummitAt this event, I was privileged with meeting academics, engineers, investors, and leaders from all corners of innovation and technology. From sessions, expo showcases, and conversations; I gained insight into cutting edge technologies like advanced manufacturing, neuromorphic sensors, cyclotrons, DERs, “Self Neutralizing Air Breathing Plasma Thruster for Very Low Earth Orbits”, and more.

I want to express my gratitude to Rebecca (Becky) Taylor and Larry Peterson for offering me the great opportunity to support the Precision Rapid Innovation Semiconductor & Scaling Manufacturing (PRISM) consortium, and extending a free ticket into what would have been otherwise a financially crippling engagement for a college student. This event has taught me about Texas’s ever-growing technopolis and exposed me to experienced minds in this fast-paced landscape.
