ATI Portfolio Companies Make a Splash at the EarthX E-Capital Summit

In its 8th year as a founding Strategic Partner of the annual industry-leading invitation-only EarthX E-Capital Summit, the Austin Technology Incubator (ATI), several portfolio companies and others in the ATI ecosystem had the honor of attending and competing in the Summit which was held April 23-25 at the Hilton Anatole hotel in Dallas, Texas.

EarthX’s annual invitation-only E-Capital Summit convenes hundreds of leading global investors/capital providers, innovators, dealmakers, industry leaders, and other investment & innovation ecosystem leaders, all of whom are focused on or exploring sustainability and clean technology investment, business, and innovation opportunities. This year more than 350 attendees participated in the Summit, a record of not just total attendees, but also the number of innovators and investors. The E-Capital Summit is just one part of the long-running annual EarthX festival celebrating Earth Day, which convenes thousands of diverse participants to Dallas.

The E-Capital Summit is comprised of five main events: Investment Forum (conference featuring ~20 fireside chats with senior industry leaders), E-Capital Connections (one-on-one meetings between investors, dealmakers, & innovators), E-Commercialization Connections (sales-focused dealmaking event connecting industry to innovators), the annual EarthX Climate Tech Prize, and a banquet, in addition to numerous other networking/mentoring events.

ATI is excited about the growth in terms of quantity and quality of the event as over the past two years, ATI and EarthX have invited three new strategic partners to further expand the size and impact of the Summit: Capital Factory, Greentown Labs, and the Unreasonable Group.

ATI leadership, Richard Amato and Becky Taylor, attended as representatives of The University of Texas at Austin. Ms. Taylor held a fireside chat on the topic of “Leveraging Federal Labs for Cross Industry Collaboration” with Paul Zielinski, Director of the Federal Laboratory Consortium (which represents the 300+ US federal laboratories) and Mr. Amato moderated the semi-final round of the EarthX Climate Tech Prize competition.

A key element to the E-Capital Summit that ATI created in 2020, the Climate Tech Prize is a globally broadcast pitch competition for early-stage startups that includes a non-dilutive cash prize and public relations to support the company. En Solución, led by co-founder Dr. Alex Athey, one of ATI’s alums and Executive-In-Residence, won the 2024 EarthX Climate Tech Prize. More than 220 innovator applications were received and 20 semi-finalists were chosen to participate in the EarthX Climate Tech Prize. ATI portfolio companies GS Vortex Systems, Water Well Finders, and Quantum Power were also selected as semifinalists with GS Vortex joining En Solución as a finalist. ATI company Tubular Network was invited to attend and present to multiple investors.

ATI looks forward to continuing its support of EarthX and the E-Capital Summit at next year’s event, slated for April 22-25, 2025.
