We’re thrilled to share that Apptronik, an alumni portfolio company of the Austin Technology Incubator (ATI) at The University of Texas, has entered into a commercial agreement with Mercedes-Benz.
Apptronik pioneers next-gen robotics with Apollo, a humanoid robot designed for seamless collaboration in human-centric environments. Established in 2016 at the University of Texas at Austin, Apptronik aims to revolutionize societal advancement through innovation, transforming the way we live and work.
Recently, Apptronik has teamed up with Mercedes-Benz to pilot their Apollo robot in Mercedes-Benz manufacturing facilities. This collaboration marks the first publicly announced commercial deployment of Apollo and the first application of humanoid robotics for Mercedes-Benz.
Apollo, designed to work alongside humans in industrial settings, will revolutionize manufacturing processes at Mercedes-Benz. With its unique force control architecture and friendly design, Apollo can tackle physically demanding tasks while ensuring safe operation around people.
“Mercedes plans to use robotics and Apollo for automating some low skill, physically challenging, manual labor – a model use case which we’ll see other organizations replicate in the months and years to come.” said Jeff Cardenas, co-founder & CEO of Apollo.
ATI congratulates Apptronik on its continued success and we are proud they are a part of our great ecosystem.
