ASME honors ATI Clean Energy Co-director Webber
The American Society of Mechanical Engineers has honored Dr. Michael Webber, co-director of the ATI Clean Energy Incubator, with the Frank Kreith Energy Award.
Webber is associate professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin, assistant director of the UT Energy Institute, and associate director of the Center for International Energy and Environmental Policy in the Jackson School of Geosciences.
The Frank Kreith Energy Award was established in 2005 to honor an individual for significant contributions to a secure energy future with particular emphasis on innovations in conservation and/or renewable energy. Contributions may be through research, education, practice or significant service to society that will lead to a sustainable energy future.
Webber has written more than 75 scientific articles, columns, and books, including a compendium of his commentary titled, “Changing the Way America Thinks About Energy.”
