Big news! FOUNDER.org has named AdBm Technologies one of 10 fianlists in this year’s FOUNDER.org $100k Program. AdBm will receive a $100,000 funding grant and enter FOUNDER.org’s twelve-month mentoring program along with the other nine startups chosen as finalists.
AdBm has developed high-performance, low-cost, and easy-to-use noise abatement technology for marine environments. AdBm’s product, a mobile and re-usable noise shield, mitigates noise created by underwater drilling and pile driving 100x more efficiently than existing solutions. This allows operators to complete projects in environmentally sensitive areas faster and more cost effectively. AdBm is led by Mark Wochner, a former research associate at UT-Austin’s Applied Research Laboratory, and Daniel Appel, who received his MBA from McCombs this Spring.
AdBm has been a member of ATI’s Development Portfolio, which works with teams of students and/or faculty who are launching businesses. AdBM will also participate in ATI’s Student Entrepreneur Acceleration and Launch (SEAL) program this summer.
FOUNDER.org partners with leading universities to help students become founders of impactful companies. The partner universities are: The University of Texas at Austin, Harvard University, MIT, New York University, The University of Pennsylvania, Carnegie Mellon University, The University of California at Berkeley, and Stanford University. FOUNDER.org’s $100K Program attracts the most innovative and promising startups from these schools. Over 500 companies submitted applications to this year’s competition, and the 50 semi-finalists were announced last month. Five of the semifinalists came from UT-Austin:AdBm Technologies , AuManil, Beyonic, Lynx Labs, and Seismos.
“FOUNDER.org shares our belief that because of the abundance of resources available, universities are uniquely qualified to support innovation” according to Kyle Cox, director of ATI’s Development portfolio. “UT-Austin provides world-class facilities, an extensive library of intellectual property, and, most importantly, an eager and capable student body, which coalesce to create an exceptional entrepreneurial ecosystem.”
Well done to the team at AdBm Technologies!
